Boundaries confine us, constrain us, limit us. They tell us how it is not how it could be. They tell us where to stop not where we can go.
At the Children's Neurobiological Solutions Foundation (CNS), we’re breaking through boundaries by simply not accepting them - for all children faced with neurological disorders and their families, for research that can help them, and for the love and commitment we devote to their cause.
Parents of children with unique needs founded CNS to go beyond the current disease-focused boundaries of scientific research related to developmental disorders affecting children and to seek new knowledge across a broad spectrum of brain injuries and neurobiological abnormalities that may lead to new therapies.
CNS will orchestrate an unprecedented level of collaborative research among the world’s leading scientists by funding
Research projects across various fields of science focused on pediatric brain development
Research projects with a focus on the sequelae of brain injuries and strategies to fix those injuries
Research using stem cells either as tools for basic research or for therapy
Innovative mechanisms, such as strategic workshops, symposia and virtual communities, that allow multidisciplinary integration of research findings
CNS will integrate parents and caregivers with scientists in powerful and productive ways by supporting
“Think Tank” meetings that bring together parents and caregivers with researchers to identify the most pressing needs and promising areas for research
Data collection from parents and caregivers about their children that will offer insights and possibilities to researchers
Informed advocacy for parents and caregivers both nationally and regionally
An informational website as a central location for new developments, research findings, local and regional resources, and candid and informed communication about issues of common concern
Virtual conferencing to engage in dialog about issues such as bioethics, stem cells, state-of the art information
CNS will inspire new therapies that will have a positive impact on children’s lives within their lifetimes by encouraging
The movement of promising research findings into clinical research
Communication to parents, caregivers and clinicians about clinical research opportunities and results
Brain Repair and Regeneration are Possible!
CNS is a nonprofit research foundation improving the lives of children disabled by neurological disorders through research focused on brain repair and regeneration.
The Problem
Research for childhood neurological disorders is poorly supported, slowing development of laboratory discoveries into safe, effective treatments for children with neurological disorders.
The Solution
Fund high-quality research focused on brain repair and regeneration.
Sponsor meetings where physicians and scientists can work together
Encourage young scientists to pursue pediatric neurological research
Advocate increased funding for pediatric neurological research
Educate families about options for treating their children
