Volunteer and Intern Opportunities are key to the success of all CNS endeavors, but especially with those activities that involve fundraising, communications, awareness, and support services. Parent Action Committees (PACs) throughout the United States are CNS’s primary arteries for voluntary support and mobilization. Established by parents of special-needs children and their friends, current Parent Action Committees are active in Southern California, the Tri-State area of New York, Connecticut, and New Jersey, Chicago, and the Monterey-San Francisco Bay Area. Parent Action Committees provide emotional and educational support, and are committed to raising money for scientific research and operational expenses through the production of events such as “Rockin’ for Research” in Chicago, “Kids on Broadway” in New York and “Winning for Research” in Southern California. CNS Parent Action Committees continue to grow, expanding into new regions. PACs need volunteers and interns to assist with events and to help assemble and distribute materials about support services for special needs children, their families, and their communities. Volunteer and intern assistance is also needed for database entry, mailings, phone teams, and our annual fund drive, the Children’s Future Fund.
