2nd Annual CNS Charity Golf & Tennis Classic & Dinner Reception
On June 5th, the 2nd Annual CNS Foundation Charity Golf & Tennis Classic was held at the world renowned Trump National Golf Club in Briarcliff Manor, NY. The group of a hundred golfers enjoyed a gourmet brunch and set out on the driving range and practice greens. They were joined by 9 year old Noah Huether, a member of our CNS Family, who has cerebral palsy. Noah attended last year and once again enjoyed the opportunity to meet our kind supporters and hit some golf balls with them. At noon, our golfers were welcomed by our event host, Fred Trump and also Alan Kalter, the announcer from The Late Show with David Letterman. Our other special guest was Rod Gilbert, former NY Ranger great and member of the NHL Hall of Fame. Our tennis guests convened on the beautiful courts at Trump National, which were designed to replicate the play at the U.S. Open. They participated in several hours of tennis which included a clinic and some competitive play. Under sunny skies, all of the guests gathered in the late afternoon to hear Dr. Fraser Sim, a member of Dr. Steve Goldman's laboratory at the University of Rochester, present an exciting update on one of the current projects funded by CNS. Awards were then given out to the top golf teams. First prize went to the group from Reckson Associates, followed by the Bank of NY foursome and the team of John Iacono. Roger Pearson, Chris Khamnei, and Jamie Jacobs received our tennis prizes.
Kyle Magnusson was the lucky winner of the raffle for a plasma television.
The guests then enjoyed an exquisite buffet dinner and delicious desserts and participated in the silent auction.
The event benefiting the Children's Future fund surpassed our expectations raising funds approximately three fold from last year's event.
