Opportunities are to be found,Dreams are to be believed in, and Love is the driving force to all miracles
Carolina was born on Sept. 12, 2004. She was born premature and weighed 4lbs. 6oz. Doctors discovered she had a heart condition known as Total Anamolous Pulmonary Venous Return (TAPVR) and underwent surgery a day before turning a month old. She was critical at that point and we feared that we might lose her. We prayed for her surgery to go well. The operation was successful and she was discharged from the hospital 2 weeks later. The day she was to be discharged, however, we were surprised by doctors who adviced us that she had experienced brain hemorrhaging, now diagnosed as cerebral palsy. We were again so frightened by this news. We did not know what this meant in terms of her overall health. We did not know what to expect or what type of special care we would need to provide. All we knew is that it was exciting to come home with her. All we could think of was how blessed we are to have her.
